Dual Language
The Dual Language program at Foster Dual Language PK-8 school provides a unique opportunity which brings together Spanish and English speaking students in an effort to develop full bilingualism in both groups. All students will have the opportunity to learn a second language without compromising their first language. The goals of Foster’s Dual Language program include:
- Developing children who will be more competitive in the global economy and more collaborative in our multicultural society
- Taking advantage of the optimal window of learning a second language during the primary years
- Supporting families with a cultural, ethnic, or multilingual heritage
- Producing critical thinkers and problem solvers who can use a communication-rich approach to succeed in the information age
- Nurturing understanding and cooperation of the different cultures living side by side in Jefferson County
- Giving students an edge in high school, college, and the workplace
- Providing a full-day, free preschool and kindergarten
